Richard is an integrative counsellor working with adults

I trained as an integrative therapist and offer a safe, warm and non-judgmental space in which you can explore whatever brings you to therapy to support you towards greater understanding, clarity, confidence and vitality in your life.

There can be a number of reasons for seeking therapy. For some of us, we may be experiencing a sense of crisis and ready to reach out for help. Perhaps the strategies that we’ve used to cope (distraction, avoidance, isolation, self-reliance, addictions etc) no longer work and we need to come into a more honest and direct relationship with whatever is causing us pain. For others of us, we may just feel a bit stuck in our lives- in our work, our relationships, our personal lives- and have a nagging sense that we could be living more purposefully, more fully and more in alignment with our true potential. Or maybe, we’ve already done some “inner work” and are looking to continue our journey of growth and transformation towards the person we sense beginning to emerge but are unsure of the next steps.

If any of these resonate, then you may be in the right place (!) but whatever your reason(s), I recognise it takes courage to consider taking this step and to reach out for help. I believe we all have an inner wisdom that knows what’s best for us and what we need and given the right conditions and support, we can tap into and reawaken. It is my intention to support you in moving towards this wiser, happier, more confident self.

I work with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, addictions (including process addictions such as porn, gambling, online shopping etc), hoarding, relationship and intimacy problems, childhood trauma, low self-esteem and codependency. I also enjoy working with a diverse client group in terms of class, ethnicity, age, sexuality, neurodiversity. That said, I particularly enjoy working with men and men's issues, bereavement and loss and anxiety.  I also enjoy working with those who are struggling with a lack of meaning and purpose in their lives.

I offer a free 20-minute initial phone consultation so that you can tell me what you are looking for and so we can see whether we may be a good fit for one another. I currently have availability on Mondays and Friday afternoon/evenings. Please contact me directly for further information:
