Selina Rainford

Selina is an integrative therapist working with adults and registered with BACP and BAATN

I offer face-to-face and online therapy for adults seeking support with a range of emotional and personal difficulties. My work centres on creating a safe, supportive space where you can explore what may be affecting you now and, where helpful, experiences from the past that may have shaped you.

With ten years of training and experience working with a wide range of clients, I have developed a strong appreciation for how unique each person’s story is. No two people experience life in the same way, so I adapt my approach to suit each individual.

I work with people facing challenges such as trauma, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, PTSD, alcohol or substance misuse, family and relationship difficulties, anger and behavioural issues, and sexuality or LGBTQ+ related concerns. My aim is to offer a steady and respectful therapeutic relationship where you can feel heard, understood, and able to speak openly about your experiences.

My approach focuses on building trust. Together we can explore thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be holding you back, including beliefs that may have developed through earlier experiences. This process can help increase self-awareness and support meaningful change.

Alongside talking therapy, my training in Integrative Art Psychotherapy allows me, where appropriate, to include creative approaches such as imagery, metaphor, or other forms of expression when words feel difficult.

I offer an initial phone consultation so we can discuss what you are looking for from therapy and whether we feel comfortable working together. If we decide to continue, sessions usually take place weekly and last 50 minutes. Therapy can be short-term and focused on a particular issue, or longer-term if you wish to explore things more deeply.

I believe people have a natural capacity for growth and change. My role is to work alongside you at a pace that feels right, helping you gain greater understanding of yourself and move towards a more balanced and confident way of living.
